Compress PDF
Optimize a PDF by re-saving it in your browser. The file size may not change much if the PDF is already optimized.
This does not reduce image quality. It keeps text and page structure while optimizing the PDF file.
What this tool is for
This tool re-saves a PDF in your browser and attempts to optimize its internal structure. If the PDF is already optimized, the size may not change much.
How to use it
- Select one PDF file.
- Confirm the selected file.
- Click “Compress PDF”.
- Save compressed.pdf and review the result.
Local file processing
Your PDF is optimized inside your browser and is not uploaded to the server. The original and output sizes are shown after processing.
Limitations
- This is not heavy image-quality reduction.
- Encrypted, damaged, or extremely large PDFs may fail.
- The output file may not always be smaller.
FAQ
Will every PDF become smaller?
No. Results depend on the PDF content and whether it was already compressed.
Will text remain selectable?
The tool does not rasterize pages, so existing text information is preserved as much as possible.
Can I use very large PDFs?
Very large files may fail because browsers have limited memory.
